How do I turn my water off?
Your stopcock will most likely look like this.
It is usually found under the kitchen sink at the bottom of the cupboard. If the property has been developed or extended then often the stopcock will remain in its original position in which case it could be in a boxing in another room.
In a Cambridge townhouse we often find it under the stairs or in the cellar.
Once you have located the stopcock you need to turn the handle clockwise until it stops. If you now open your taps the water should eventually stop running.
